CONCERT IDEAS PRESENTS: BRYCE VINE ON YOUR CAMPUS TOUR

NOW BOOKING: Bryce Vine On Your Campus Tour

Tour running spring 2019 & will include a carried support act.

THROWBACK EVENTS

Throwback Concert

Even with the never ending stream of trendy SoundCloud Insta-famous acts, there are always a few crowd pleasers who still tour and crank out music.  In recent years, throwback style events have been one of the more popular go-tos for event planning.  Why?  Everyone loves nostalgia.  Check out the image above for a few ideas of acts who are available for fall bookings.  These folks still bring the crowds, and many are still relevant and have new material as well!

WHAT IT’S ACTUALLY LIKE BEING ON TOUR

“Running on no sleep and pizza.”

No Sleep

Forget about a full night’s sleep when you’re on tour. Between all of the travel and early load in / late night load out schedules you’ll be treasuring what little sleep you can get.

Practical Shoes

Wearing practical shoes is literally one of the most important parts of working while on the road. You spend a lot of time on your feet. Usually people stick with shoes like Vans or Converse because they are lightweight and skid proof.

Random Days Off

Odds are the few days off you have, you’ll be in a location you would never normally go to. America is full of strange roadside attractions and hotels to stay the night in. So go for it – visit the world’s largest pistachio. Spend the night in that undersea lodge.

You Will Really Value Good Food

No matter how healthy the rider the band and crew is using, people will always try to skimp on food day of show leaving you eating sandwiches and pizza constantly. The few times you get a healthy meal, you will thoroughly be appreciative. As will your stomach! Another great thing about being on the road, is the opportunity to try local specialties across the country.

Touring Is A Very Smelly Situation

Showering becomes a luxury. The first chance you get to shower, you will! Being stuck in a vehicle with a group of other smelly folks – let’s just say that speaks for itself.

Caffeine

Caffeine becomes your BFF. You rely on it. If a venue doesn’t have a coffee setup, you know someone will be making a coffee run. You may not have drank energy drinks before #tourlife, but guess what? Now you’ll find yourself drinking Red Bulls & Monsters. And nobody is gonna judge you.

You Will Meet Lots Of Interesting People

From other bands and roadies to random celebrities and crazy fans, you’ll meet people from all walks of life. You’ll also make some great friends. Stories to last a lifetime.

ITEMS YOU NEED TO HAVE BACKSTAGE

From towels to security – make sure you are prepared for day of show!

Stage Towels

Stage towels are one of the most important things to have at any concert. Don’t skimp on these or forget to provide them. Also, always get a dark color (black is best). White lint will show up with the event lights.

Cases of Water

There can never be enough water! Buy more than you think you need. If you don’t use it all, just use it at your next event! Bonus points for coffee & tea service backstage to keep everyone’s energy up!

Extra Credentials

What if the artist’s aunt shows up with a few guests, or a volunteer loses their pass? Print 10 – 20 more of each credential level pass. Bonus points for printouts explaining where each level of pass gets you!

Directional Signage

Remember that the band, and most of the crew, have no clue how to get around your venue. Odds are they’ve never been there, or won’t remember the precise venue layout. Create signs with arrows to the dressing rooms, bathrooms, stage, production office, and catering. This will help cut down on a lot of simple but time consuming questions day of show.

Security

Make sure to have security posted up by the stage, dressing rooms, and anywhere there is an entrance to backstage.

Day of Show Schedules Posted

“What time is my soundcheck again?” With so much going on, it’s easy for folks to forget simple scheduling details. Solve the problem by posting up schedules everywhere!

WI-FI Info Posted

One of the first questions anyone will ask you is for the wi-fi info. Cell phone coverage might be limited, or the band might simply need it to run their equipment for the show. Make sure you have the wi-fi info posted up where necessary backstage, including the dressing rooms, production office, or catering area.

Emergency Contact Info Posted

What if the worst happens? Nobody wants to think about it, but you need to in case something happens. Make sure you have any and necessary emergency contacts printed out on a list and posted up. Think local PD, pro event security, the fire marshall, et cetera.
